ITINERARY
DAY 01
CHIANG MAI - MAE TAENG - OX CART - LISU LODGE
Join a morning transfer on a local truck “songtaew” to the mountain templeof Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most famous landmark of Chiang Mai. Its exquisite golden pagoda with 6 kg of pure gold at its peak and the rest plated with gold shines high over the city. The sound of temple bells fills the air, and the view down over the city makes an irresistible photo opportunity. Afterwards drive up the mountain, passing the King’s winter palace of Phuping and turn onto a rough dirt road to the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project where you can enjoy a cup of the local ‘arabica’ surrounded by fabulous gardens of flowers. Continue to the white Hmong village of Chang Khien where the 800 inhabitants still retain their traditional hill tribe clothes and culture that dates back 500 years. The modern city of Chiang Mai can be viewed down below 10 km away. Upon arrival enjoy a quick cup of steaming mountain tea with a village family and then back to Doi Suthep with continuing to visit an Orchid Farm. Drive to the Lisu Lodge for lunch. Enjoy a relaxing ox-cart ride through fields, orchards and teak plantations before you start on a village tour guided by Lisu people to see a bit of Lisu customs and culture. Dinner and overnight at the Lisu Lodge.

DAY 02
LISU LODGE - ELEPHANT RIDE - WHITE WATER RAFTING
After breakfast, set off for a biking tour (13 km up and down hill) to the Mae Taeng Elephant Camp. From there enjoy a one hour elephant ride through the beautiful mountains and jungle to the river. Enjoy a hearty picnic lunch by the river at the elephant camp. Afterwards embark on an inflatable rubber boat for an exciting 45 minutes white water rafting on the Mae Taeng River. After this exciting adventure take a short drive to visit an Akha Village. Then it’s your choice; either cycle back to the Lisu Lodge or use the transfer by a “songthaew”. Upon arrival the free time to enjoy Lisu activities such as embroidering and organic gardening. Dinner and overnight at the Lisu Lodge.

DAY 03
LISU LODGE - WATER FALL - HOT SPA - KAREN - CHIANG MAI
After breakfast, depart by local truck from the Lisu Lodge to the Pong Dueid Hot Spring. Upon arrival enjoy walking around the beautiful National Park and take the opportunity for a energizing bath in hot mineral water. Continue on road to the Mork Fah Waterfall and stop en-route to visit the Karen tribe in Ban Huay Phra Chao. Lunch at local restaurant. Then transfer to Chiang Mai.
